Hello, I'm Anna. When it comes to keeping fit, I need all the help I can get. So I'm going to show you how I've built a healthy habits tracker. It sits on my desk and reminds me every now and then that I should be taking a break to exercise. And it lets me record when I do, so that I can see how I'm tracking. This is my healthy habits tracking pet device which I built using an AdaFruit Feather Huzzah ESP8266 microcontroller from an IoT development kit. It includes colorful lights and sound to get my attention [buzz] and it has a built-in button that I can use to trigger a notification when I complete my exercise. [click] There's also an OLED screen behind the eyes for animations, which gives the device some personality and I find that this gives me a little bit of extra motivation to pay attention to the device. So, follow along as I show you how I built the device, and get it communicating to a cloud application using MQTT.
